Fan Passion

NCAA fans show tremendous passion during games compared to the NFL based on our trips to Wisconsin and Florida.

Dedicated Fans

Fans don't switch teams like many do in the NFL when their team goes south. This is in part because many fans went to the college they cheer for.

Traditions

From Wisconsin fans going nuts to the song "Jump Around" at the end of the 3rd quarter (since 1992) to Georgia Tech being led onto the field by a 1930 Model A Ford Sport Coupe known as 'Ramblin' Wreck' since 1961, traditions are deep.

8 Home Games

Some teams schedule as many as 8 home games with 4 road games. This is silly.

Playoff/Poll System

The playoff needs 12 to 16 teams. The poll system favors big, more popular teams and powerhouses. Four playoff teams is boring & nobody under 50 cares about Bowl Game tradition.

Too Many Teams

130 teams is too many. It creates more blowouts and difficulty getting to know teams. Even breaking it in half to two divisions would increase competitiveness.

Teams Make Schedules

AD's strategically schedule cupcake teams early on their schedule to ramp up, almost like scrimmages. Alabama avoids tough non-conference road games. The league would be better if the NCAA made the schedule.

Blowout Scores

Teams pile on the score in order to rise in the poll rankings. This is college football - and this prevents some second string players from meaningful participation.

Powerhouse Teams

The recruiting process drives high school recruits to a small handful of powerhouse teams which creates blowouts and too many 12-0/11-1 teams.

Tackle Rules

Unlike the NFL, if an untouched ball carrier hits the ground, he is considered tackled. This is archaic.

Game Mismatches

35, 45 and 55 point spreads games are boring. The underdog never wins which creates a snooze factor as well as the 62-3 final score.
