ncaa Team traditions
Texas Tech
In 1954, long before USC and Florida State unveiled their horse based mascots, the Texas Tech Red Raiders debuted "The Masked Rider".
Wisconsin
Badger fans emulate the 1992 hit song "Jump Around" with passion at the end of the third quarter since 1992.
Auburn
The "War Eagle" flies before each game since 1892. We're not sure what that has to do with their real mascot, the tiger.
Nebraska
Husker fans have applauded the opposing team as they come off the field, win or lose, since Texas stopped their 47-game home win streak in 1998. Florida State Coach Bobby Bowden once said after his Seminoles upset the Huskers in Lincoln - "I've never seen people with more class. I had the feeling they were thanking us for putting on a good show".
Colorado
The Buffaloes "Ralphie" circles the field before each half since 1967.
Arkansas
Razorback fans have been yelling "Woooooo! Pig! Sooooie!" since 1920 when farmers originated this rallying cry.
Clemson
Tiger players rub Death Vally, California relic Howard's Rock before each game for good luck.
Georgia Tech
A 1930 Model A Ford has led the Yellow Jackets onto the field since 1961.
Oklahoma
The "Sooner Schooner" wagon has been exciting since 1964, especially when it occasionally turns over in a crash.
Conference Loyalty
Southeast Conference fans are so loyal and passionate they cheer for their conference peers and rivals in Bowl games that don't involve their own team.
